Framnock Bay '00'
The concept of the layout was to build it on a minimal budget and to show what can be done with simple components,
yet give something visually appealing and interesting to operate.
The fairly unusual shape is that dictated by a spare unused space within our clubrooms, a bay window. When exhibited, the public's viewing
position replicates looking through the window from outside.
The layout gives members the opportunity to run their own stock. Based on a time period from the 1940s to the 1960s
in an unidentified part of England, the layout has conventional DC control with all the trackwork being Peco Code 100.
It portrays a small suburban station served by a light but frequent passenger service and has a small but busy goods yard.
There is also a connection to a nearby industrial area with sidings, to which there is a regular flow of freight traffic.
The layout measures 9ft 11in long by 2ft 1in deep with an integral fiddle yard towards the rear.
