The Uckfield Model Railway Club caters for those who have an interest in modelling railways
in the smaller scales (eg 2mm/ft, 4mm/ft, 7mm/ft etc) as well as the larger scales more commonly associated with
model engineering societies.
Model railway activities revolve around Monday meetings at the Clubroom just on the outskirts of Uckfield,
East Sussex. At these meetings work continues on new and existing Club layouts. Every so often running nights are held so that
members and visitors can run their stock. Lectures and demonstrations on model railway construction techniques are
also held.
The Club is active in the model railway exhibition scene, both with Club and Member's layouts. Trips
are also arranged to exhibitions outside of the local area. The Club organises its own Annual Model Railway Exhibition
in the local Civic Centre which has gained a reputation for one of the best "small" shows in the south-east of England.
Our next exhibition is being held on the 17th & 18th October 2009 in the Uckfield Civic Centre. Click here for more details.
The Bentley Miniature Railway is the name given to the Club's dual gauge 5 inch & 7¼ inch ground level
passenger carrying miniature railway which members have built and operate at weekends and holidays throughout the year.

The railway is located in part of the grounds of Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum near Halland, just south of Uckfield.
Maintenance, repairs and new works at the railway are carried out on weekday afternoons throughout the year,
and Thursday evenings in the summer months (Easter till September).
Social meetings are held on an occasional basis for film shows etc., at the Clubroom and other venues.
The Club also holds barbecue evenings for all members, families and friends at the Miniature Railway during summer weekends.
A more formal dinner is organised for all our members and their partners on the Saturday evening of our model railway exhibition
to which our guest exhibitors are also invited.
The Club publishes a newsletter several times a year, giving advance notice of forthcoming events and activities,
and a journal, "Model and Miniature TrackWorker", containing in-depth articles plus records of activities by the club and its members,
twice a year. Both are circulated to all members.
